New week new knowledge

D: “Where does the name Washington come from?”
B: “Have you ever heard of a guy named George?”
D: “I MEAN THE NAME ITSELF, does it like, come from someone who wash? Clothes?”
E: “The name Washington is derived from Washington, Tyne and Wear, England, a place name of uncertain origin. The earliest examples in England are either Wasindone (people of the hill by the stream, 1096), or Wassyngtona (settlement of Wassa’s people, 1183).”

And the reading from Washington, Tyne and Wear continued until we all understood where the name comes from.
