News from another star, Stealing words

17 February 2008

What I listen to: Interpol (mostly Pace is the Trick)
What happens: Kosovo gets it’s independence.
What I feel: I want to go out of town. As soon as possible.
What I do instead: Reading Douglas Torgerson’s book.
What I get: “He matter-of-factly told me that an environmental catastrophe leading to human extinction was quite likely. He also said that you had to laugh about it. If you could not see the irony in human self-destruction, he said, if you could not laugh at it, you could well go mad…” and “the meaning of green politics is obviously bound up with what it means to be green. It is a question that pervades the green movement, giving rise to some intense conflicts and an air of tragic seriousness.”
